Long John Calico was once the most blackest and heartless pirate in the 6th Phantoms days.

The 6th Phantom was chasing him for years but was unable to bring him to justice. Eventually the Phantom had the chance, but by then he was transformed and became a travelling missionary. He was betrayed by Captain Blease and deserted on an Island. Calico swore that if he was rescued he would turn his life around.

While a missionary, he still enjoys a good fight and is not afraid of confrontation. His behavior has totally turned. He regular speaks in scriptures and knows the bible back to front.

He has a side kick who stays at his side through thick and thin called Kelp and a bird called Polly who is a clever bird and can do all sorts of tricks.
