The way he draws the Phantom's face is likely one of the most detailed ever along with Jeff Weigel. Sal uses extra lines for his chin and checks. His mask is also smaller not taking up as much 'real estate'.

Sal's superheroes are very American-like but his Phantom is dialed down a bit more perhaps showing his Italian routes who tend to be more minimalist like Felmang.

At times, his Phantom could be a bit to stylised and over muscly.
